CADD Support
WatchDog Print monitor compatible with all Windows based CADD software and/or batch plotting systems!

WatchDog Print Monitor is designed to detect and gather information about any print job, regardless of it's origin. Watchdog has the capacity to allow the user to log multiple print jobs at once. This way, if your batch plotting, you don't have to enter information (Client Information, Job number, etc.) for each print/plot. All you have to do is enter the print/plot job information, select all the prints/plots in the list, and then select save. Its that simple.

Compatibility
WatchDog Print Monitor is compatible with Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP workstations, and Windows 2000/2003 Server. WatchDog Print Monitor can be configured to function with Novell and Mac systems.

Q&A
Question: Can I control what information is to be logged for each print job?

Answer: Yes: The configuration module offers you to create customizable categories to be associated with each print job.

Question: What if I don't want the users to only be able to select from a list of values that I create?
Answer: You can set an option for each category created that will require the user to only select from a list of predefined values.

Question: What information can be automatically extracted from each print job?
Answer: Sheet size, total pages printed, printer name, machine name, user name, document name, and submitted date/time can all be automatically logged for each print job.

Question: Can each workstation be configured individually while still writing information to a common database?
Answer: Yes. The configuration file can either be local or on a network. This allows you to customize individual workstations to your needs.

Question: What are verification methods and options?

Answer: Verification options determine when or if a user is prompted for information. Verification methods determine how the user is prompted for information. For instance, there is an option to not allow blank values. That means that the user is required to enter information for that category.

Question: How come I only get number of pages some of the time?
Answer:The most common cause of this is using a proprietary (Raw Format) print driver. If you change your printer driver Spool Data Format to EMF or obtain a driver that supports EMF, you will get number of pages.

Question: How do install Watchdog on a network?

Answer: You have the options of installing either the configuration file or database file or both files on the network or locally. This allows you to log all information to a common database and to make global configuration changes.

Question: What does "Acknowledge Default Value" mean?
Answer: This determines how a user is to verify a value. For instance, if the "Acknowledge Default Value" option is selected for a value, the user must either enter a value, select a value, or click on the default value to continue. This insures that users aren't simply clicking OK every time they have to enter information.
